The Hard Times Street Rod Club is one of the oldest, continually operating car clubs in the Southeastern United States.  We are a Charitable Organization in the State of Tennessee.  The club limits membership to 25 members with serious interest in preservation of automobiles that are rarely seen on today’s roads.  As a membership requirement each owns a collector, classic, or muscle car or truck manufactured during or before 1972.  The club periodically has openings for new members.  If you are interested in becoming a member please email us by CLICK HERE

Each year during the Father’s day weekend in June the club presents the Moonshine Rod Run.  This event is an annual gathering of more than 500 Classic, Collector and Muscle Cars & Trucks, their proud owners, guests, and several hundred spectators all joining together in City Park located in Newport, Tennessee.  The Moonshine Rod Run has been presented by the members of the Hard Times Street Rod Club for the past 37 years.  Proceeds from the Moonshine Rod Run benefit many organizations and individuals in local East Tennessee communities in accordance with needs identified by the club members.

In addition to monthly meetings held on the first Monday of each month the club holds periodic member cruises (open to non-members), a June Ice Cream Social in City Park, other club outings as are periodically scheduled, and our annual Christmas Dinner & Gift Exchange.

The club is very fortunate to have the support of several generous sponsors without whom we could not present our annual Moonshine Rod Run.  The club would like to thank:
